Work permit holders (except Bulgarian and Romanian nationals)

What if the person does not take up the post or the employment ends prematurely?

This page explains what an employer should do if a work permit holder's employment ends prematurely.

The employer should notify us at once if:

  • a work permit holder leaves their job voluntarily while their work permit is still valid; or
  • a work permit holder is made redundant while their work permit is still valid; or
  • the employer ceases to trade while it has work permit holders in its employment.

The employer should complete and return a Notification of premature end of employment form, which can be found under 'Application forms' on the right side of this page. The completed form should be sent to:

UK Border Agency
PO Box 3468
Sheffield
S3 8WA

If possible, the employer should also return the work permit(s).
