Processing times
This page gives details of the processing time for applications made in the UK under Tier 1 (Post-study work) of the points-based system.
We received a high volume of applications in this category prior to the closure of this route in April and the majority of these applications have been considered. However we still have a small amount awaiting consideration. We will contact applicants as soon as possible and will be assessing these in strict date order of receipt of the application and subsequent attendance at a biometric appointment.
We aim to have completed consideration of all the remaining applications by December 2012.

Service standards
Our service standards set out how quickly we aim to decide immigration applications.
For applications made inside the UK under Tier 1 of the points-based system, the standard is that we will decide 90 per cent of applications within 4 weeks of the applicant attending a biometric appointment.
