Lawyers providing advocacy
This page contains information about documents that may help to support your application to come to the UK as a lawyer providing advocacy as a permitted paid engagement.
You must provide a copy of your invitation from a UK-based legal client or overseas-based client to provide advocacy in a particular area of law at a court or tribunal hearing, arbitration or other form of alternative dispute resolution, such as mediation.
You may also wish to provide:
- confirmation of your right of audience (or 'temporary call') to allow you to represent a client in a UK court; and
- evidence of your qualifications, such as a practising certificate or certificate of good standing.
