A Hertfordshire man has been charged with attempting to smuggle approximately seven kilos of cocaine, with an estimated street value of £280,000, into the United Kingdom through Heathrow Airport.
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) investigators interviewed Ricki Warby (22), from St Albans, Hertfordshire, after UK Border Agency officers discovered the drugs in baggage. He had arrived at Heathrow on a flight from Santiago via Madrid yesterday (16 November 2009). Warby was arrested, interviewed and subsequently charged. He appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates Court today and has been remanded in custody. His next court appearance will be at Uxbridge Magistrates Court on 24 November 2009.
