Review into ending the detention of children for immigration purposes (June to July 2010)
On 15 May 2010, the government announced a review into the ending of the detention of children in the UK for immigration purposes. The public were invited to contribute to the review between 11 June and 1 July 2010.
The review is now closed.
You can download the government's conclusions from the review below, along with the review's terms of reference and the responses to the review from individuals and organisations. The terms of reference indicate some of the issues covered by the review, and responses were invited on all of those issues.
The review team received more than 350 responses, of which almost a quarter were from organisations representing children's issues. We would like to thank those who contributed to the review, and provided some excellent and practical ideas.
