Chapter 9 - General ground for the refusal of entry clearance, leave to enter or variation of leave to enter or remain


The immigration directorate instructions are internal guidance used by staff when handling applications.

Sections 2, 3 (including Annex A), 3A (including Annex B), 4 and 4A of Chapter 9 have now been replaced by modernised guidance.

Section 5 of chapter 9 has now been replaced by modernised guidance.
