The immigration directorate instructions are internal guidance used by staff when handling applications.

Section 4 (Retired persons of independant means) and annexes G, H, I, J and K have now been replaced by modernised guidance.

Section 1 (Persons exercising rights of access to a child resident in the UK) Annex A and Annex B have been replaced by modernised guidance.
