Chapter 8 - Appendix FM (family members)


The immigration directorate instructions are internal guidance used by staff when handling applications.

This section of the immigration directorate instructions is about family members applying after 9 July 2012 under Chapter 8 Appendix FM of the Immigration Rules.

Section 3 (fiancé(e)s and proposed civil partners), section 4 (victims of domestic violence), section 5 (adopted children), section 5b (children coming for adoption) and section 5c (family life as a parent of a child in the UK) has now been replaced by modernised guidance.
