General Register Office
Working in partnership with local authorities in England and Wales, the GRO oversees a local registration service to members of the general public. We also offer support and guidance to the local registration officers who serve them. Our remit in both cases extends over a range of aspects relating to civil marriage preparation, celebration and registration and the registration of births, deaths, stillbirths and adoptions.
