Changes to British nationality applications made outside the UK
From 16 July 2012 applicants outside the UK must send their application to the UK Border Agency in the UK. British Nationality regulations have changed the way applications made outside the UK are submitted and processed.This page provides details of where you should send your completed British citizenship application form.
Before sending us your form, you should make sure you fill in all sections that apply to your application. You must also enclose the correct documents and the fee.
If you require your documents to be signed for on delivery you should enclose a pre-paid self-addressed royal mail special delivery (or recorded signed for delivery) envelope. The pre-paid self-addressed envelope should be the correct one to take the size and weight of your documents and be insured to the appropriate level for the value of your documents. Please see the Royal Mail's web site at www.royalmail.com for further information. If this is not enclosed your documents will be returned by Royal Mail 2nd class post.

If you made your application in the UK, use our online form to tell us if you change your contact details or your legal representative.
If you are currently in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland

If you are currently in the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man
Your application form, fee and supporting documents should be sent to the Lieutenant Governor.
If you are currently in a British overseas territory
Your application form, fee and supporting documents should be sent to the Governor.
If you are curently in Hong Kong
Your application form, fee and supporting documents should be sent to the nearest British diplomatic post. You may have to pay an additional fee to cover the cost of the post forwarding copies of your documents on to us. You should contact the post for details of this fee.
If you are elsewhere, including in a Commonwealth country
