COMPASS

This page contains information about the Commercial and Operational Managers Procuring Asylum Support Services (COMPASS) project.

The COMPASS project was launched in July 2009 to provide contracts for the provision of asylum support services following the expiry of the previous contracts during 2012. The following services were within the scope of COMPASS:

• initial and dispersed accommodation and associated services for asylum applicants; and
• transport for asylum applicants.

During 2012 over 19,000 asylum applicants were moved to new contracts with just over 2,300 applicants requiring a physical move. Since December 2012, all asylum applicants have been accommodated by the new suppliers.
