Investors in People


The UK Border Agency is accredited as an Investor in People.

In 2005, the assessors provided us with an assessment report. They were impressed with the step-change improvement since their last assessment in August 2004. They said that there was a much more positive feel to the organisation and that staff they interviewed were more motivated and supported. They highlighted:

  • the strong commitment of the board to learning and development;
  • the substantial investment being made in learning and development;
  • the significant role of the IND College in supporting the business and creating ownership of learning and development within the business;
  • sophisticated and improved business planning, including for learning and development, that reaches down to individuals and their personal objectives;
  • the leadership and management suite of courses including Ashridge and Roffey Park;
  • good examples of evaluation being undertaken strategically; and
  • improvements in communications with staff.
