Larne House is a residential short term holding facility, which is used solely for the detention of a detainee for a period up to 7 days.

Larne House currently operates under the escorting services contract between the UK Border Agency and Reliance.

Larne House is located within Larne police station.

By road

From Belfast: From the M2, at junction 4 take the A6 exit to Larne and the A8(M). At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Highgate Grove and the A8(M), at the next roundabout take the 3rd exit onto Ballynure Road and the A8 heading to Larne and Ballyclare. Continue to follow A8 continuing over the next 5 roundabouts (approx.13.8 miles) then take slight left onto Circular Road and the A8 at the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto Glynnview Ave and the A2, turn right into Glynnview Ave and destination will be on the left.

By rail and bus

Larne train and bus stations are both in close proximity to Larne House. Most services originate from Belfast and operate on a semi regular basis.

Visits

All visits must be booked in advance.

Visits take place daily between 1400 and 2100, 7 days a week.

All visitors must bring with them photo identification, such as a passport or driving licence, in addition to a recent utility bill which clearly shows their full name and full UK address. Visitors cannot access Larne House without the required identification and utility bill.

Visitors will be subject to search procedures.

Parking

A public car park is available across the road from the police station.

The UK Border Agency operates a policy restricting the amount of personal property that detainees can have in the centre.
