What to do if you are unable to attend your reporting event

This page explains what you need to do if you are unable to attend your reporting event on a particular day.

If you cannot attend on a particular day, you must contact the reporting centre or your case owner giving your Home Office and port reference explaining why you are unable to attend and we will consider rearranging your appointment. It will help your case if you give advance notice of difficulties in attending. Reporting centre staff will consider such requests sympathetically if your immigration history justifies this.

If you have difficulties in attending the reporting centre because of a medical condition, you should bring medical evidence with you to show why reporting is difficult. This will help us consider if you should report less often.

We often suspend reporting for women who are pregnant, for the six weeks before and after the birth. We need to see your pregnancy record certificate (MAT B1) to plan this break in your reporting. When your child is born, we need to see the birth certificate because we need to record your baby as your dependent.

If you miss a reporting event you will need to provide evidence to show why you could not attend when you next visit the reporting centre. If it was because you were unwell you will need to bring a doctor's certificate to your next reporting event.
