Reporting to a reporting centre or a police station

The agency has reporting centres throughout the UK. We can ask you to report to a reporting centre or a police station. The main reason why we would ask you to report to a police station is if you live a long distance from the nearest reporting centre.

If you report to a police station, we may ask you from time to time to attend a reporting centre or other UK Border Agency office if we need your help in preparing a travel document, or need to discuss some aspects of your application with you.

You will see little difference between reporting at a police station or in a reporting centre. However, the police cannot update an application registration card (ARC). Instead the police tell us you have attended, and we ensure your support payments continue.
