Further submissions unit - Liverpool

If you are a failed asylum seeker who initially claimed asylum before 5 March 2007, you can only make a further submission in person. You must: 

• phone our further submissions unit to make an appointment - you will be given the date and time of your appointment; and 
• attend your appointment at the further submissions unit to hand in your further written submission.

The phone line opens at 09:00 and closes when 30 appointments have been booked or at 16:00 (whichever is earlier).

Your appointment will not involve any interview or meeting with the decision-maker.

There is no walk-in service at the unit.

When you have booked your appointment by phone, we will send you a confirmation letter. You should bring this letter to the further submissions unit when you attend the appointment.

Please ensure you bring all photographic identification with you.

If you are unable to travel to the Liverpool FSU to make your further submission in person you will not need to book an appointment if you meet one of the following exceptional criteria:

• you have a disability or severe illness and are physically unable to travel
• you are imprisoned or in detention and cannot make your submission in person
• you are an unaccompanied asylum-seeking child and cannot travel to the Liverpool FSU because it is too far away.

Instead, you should fax your further submission to our further submissions team in Liverpool on 0151 213 2210, with documentary evidence to show how you meet at least one of the exceptional criteria. If we decide that you do not meet any of the criteria, we will tell you that you must book an appointment at the FSU.

Cancelling an appointment

If you have booked an appointment at Liverpool FSU and you want to cancel it, you should phone our cancellation line on 0151 213 2413.
Please leave your Home Office reference number and the time and date of your appointment. Any other information will not be considered.
