How much does the premium service cost?
This page lists the fees that you must pay to make an application using our premium service at a public enquiry office in the UK.
The application fee depends on the type of application you make. It is higher than the fee for making the same application by post. The fee is for consideration of your application - it does not guarantee that your application will be approved. You can find details of individual fees and how you can pay them below.
We will not refund your fee if we refuse your application or you withdraw it, so you should ensure that:
- you meet the requirements for your type of application (described in the relevant sections of this website); and
- you bring all the required documents to your appointment at the public enquiry office - see Before you arrive for more information.
For some types of application, you can include your dependants - your husband, wife, civil partner, unmarried partner or same-sex partner, and any dependent children under 18 - on your application form. For other types of application, you cannot include any dependants on your application form. You should check the relevant section of this website for information about your application type.
If you cannot include dependants on your application form, or if your dependant applies separately (at a different time or on another form), they must pay the appropriate fee.
How to pay your fee
When you book your appointment you will be directed to pay online. The fee you pay will include an appointment booking fee of £100 per applicant. When we process the payment an electronic payment sheet will be available to download and print. This includes a unique payment reference number. You must bring the payment sheet to your appointment with your signed application form and supporting documents. If you do not bring the payment sheet your appointment will be cancelled and the £100 appointment fee per applicant will be retained.
Some application fees are not payable online. Visit our public enquiry offices page to find out how each PEO accepts payment for these applications.
If you do not attend or have to cancel your appointment you can request a refund by email. A refund will only be given to the person that paid the fee(s) for the application. On you email please include your:
- Name
- Payment Number (found on your payment sheet and your i-apply account)
- BRN (found on your confirmation email)
- Name of the person who paid the fees if it was not you
The refund will take up to 28 days and will be issued onto the card used to pay the appointment fee(s). A refund onto an alternate card can only be issued if the original card has expired or been cancelled.
We will only refund the appointment fee(s) if you cancel your appointment with more than 5 working days' notice.
If you withdraw your application after you arrive at the PEO we will not refund the appointment fee(s).
If you do not bring the payment sheet to your appointment your appointment will be cancelled and we will not refund the appointment fee(s).
If you do not attend your booked appointment, we will not refund the £100 appointment fee per applicant, unless there are exceptional circumstances that you tell us about within 5 working days of the appointment. These could include:
- Medical emergency (evidence should be in the form of doctors letters etc.)
- Natural disaster
- Domestic emergency (evidence should be letters from doctors, vets, builders, plumbers etc)
- Unavoidable travel delays (evidence should be of your travel booking along with confirmation of delay by travel provider, roadside recovery etc)
Please email us at PEOAppointmentRefunds@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk to let us know of any exceptional circumstances.
If you paid the £100 appointment fee(s) by phone between 8 April and 2 September and need to request a refund you can email us at PEOAppointmentRefunds@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk. A refund will only be given to the person that paid the appointment fee(s). On your email please include your:
